I’m not sure I agree with everything here, but I get the drift and I’m an American wine drinker; I’m going to love, drink, and promote American–often Californian–wines. I am more fond of the Oregon wines in most cases, however, and for many reasons. Buying and cellaring the wonderful big CA wines is beyond many people’s wallets. Eating the lush, rich meals that match them is tasty; I’ll give you that. But it’s not terribly healthy on a regular basis. And those wines pack a wallop with alcohol. The poor livers of those of us who like a daily glass at dinner. So give me Oregon or Washington…and you have made a friend now that I know you like Pinot with lamb! It’s one of my favorite pairings and people always want Bordeaux or Cab with IT. THANKS!!! THAT ROCKS. (Or try an Oregon Cristom Syrah with your lamb chops. Lovely.)
